Award for Exceptional Apprentice-Training
The city of Munich presented the Erasmus-Grasser Prize to Bruno Trost of Kältetechnik aircool GmbH and thus paid tribute to the outstanding contribution of the company he founded in 1986 as an outstanding apprentice training company.

DAIKIN Applied Germany buys the long-standing, highly specialized chiller distributor, Kältetechnik aircool GmbH, headquartered in Munich
DAIKIN Applied Germany headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, a 100% subsidiary of DAIKIN Applied Europe, has bought Kältetechnik aircool GmbH, headquartered in Munich, on April 1st, 2017. The parties have agreed to not disclose the commercial terms related to the purchase.
Aircool was founded in 1986 and has since grown to be a powerful Full-Service-Company in all areas encompassing process cooling and air-conditioning technologies in large scale applications.

Kältetechnik aircool GmbH has been engaged in education for over 20 years resulting in many highly qualified trainees. We are currently increasing our efforts to give young people a sound education with well above average knowledge and skills.
The latest award winner, Michael Soller, is one more example of the successful educational system of Kälte?technik aircool. The trainee Michael Soller has been awarded the best trainee in refrigeration technology by the chamber of Handcrafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria in September 2016.

The Northern Italian producer is well established in northern and central Germany and has its German headquarters in Norderstedt in the Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein. The Clivet group was founded in 1989, employs over 650 staff and its turnover is 125 million €.

Since 2006 McQuay has been a part of the Daikin group, which is the world's largest refrigeration and air conditioning company. From April 01, 2014 onwards, the McQuay Italia S.p.A will be called Daikin Applied Europe S.p.A. The brand name McQuay remains part of the product range.

The Leibniz computer Center (LRZ) in Garching near Munich put its new supercomputer into operation in late July. Visitors were able to experience a magnetic bearing Centrifugal-compressor in live operation at the Kältetechnik aircool/McQuay booth. A direct insight into the thermodynamic processes were offered for the first time by this camera. With altogether four refrigeration machines on display, aircool demonstrated its wide technical competence in all areas of refrigeration technology on the international industrial platform Chillventa in Nuremberg.

This year, McQuay launches a product engagement in the segment of industrial chillers: The air-cooled liquid chillers in the new ACZC series with scroll compressors and a cooling capacity from 170 up to 675 kW are available immediately as high-quality and low-cost alternative from Kältetechnik aircool. The machines complement the extensive McQuay product range of the screw and centrifugal compressors offered by aircool.

McQuay presents the “Magnitude” Centrifugal-compressor
Orlando/Munich – in January, McQuay presented its newly developed “Magnitude” compressor at the Climate-AHR-Expo trade show in Orlando. The magnetic bearing centrifugal-compressor was developed by their in-house design department. With a cooling capacity from 1400 to 2000 kW per unit, this chiller extends the new McQuay WME series. Special features of the WME series are the extremely high efficiency at partial loading and the low starting currents.
